Woodfield MicrohoodThe Woodfield Microhood is an informal group of people dedicated to making a positive impact on public spaces and building a more connected community in the general vicinity of 26th and Olive Streets.
The centerpiece of the efforts is a massive intersection mural, first painted in 2016 during a block party event that brought together some 200 happy people. We hope to refresh the mural and hold a gathering every two years while continuing to make other interventions throughout the area. In 2018 we built a "living willow" parklet and a Tiny Art Gallery on the corner. This "Creative Placemaking Fair" will bring everyone together to refresh the mural and learn about other placemaking actions in process in this microhood and others. |
