Friendly Fruit Tree Project

The Friendly Fruit Tree Project was created to connect motivated Friendly Area Neighbor (FAN) fruit pickers with FAN residents who have excess fruit. FAN fruit trees, bushes, & vines get identified and harvested, and then the fruit is shared equally between volunteers, a local food bank (ie, Food for Lane County), and the residents who grow the fruit.  Neighbors are able to learn skills such as fruit processing and fruit tree care, and they share the abundance together in a way that builds community and improves food security.  Tools and training are funded by the City of Eugene Neighborhood Matching Grant program, and by generous volunteers.
